I have for sale 250 user licenses for a backup software system. These licenses allow you to install software on a server and distribute customized client software which allows people or businesses to backup their windows computers to your server from any internet connection and, if necessary, restore lost files from any internet connection. The software is created by a company called Novastor (www.novastor.com) but the client software can be customized to appear as if it were yours. The client software also allows for local backups creating a comprehensive backup solution.

I purchased these licenses and set up the program. I had client software customized and began serving a handful of clients. Another opportunity opened for me and with my new business I simply do not have time to market this software. This would be particularly good as a value-added service for an IT service firm, but anyone with a moderate knowledge of MS Windows could operate this system. My intention is to keep the machine I did the install on, but would consider transferring it with the licenses.

There is very minimal overhead involved. I had no trouble convincing both individuals and businesses that the service was worth $10 / month. With 250 users, $2500 / month with little overhead could make someone a great side business. I would estimate after startup, this would require approximately 6 to 8 hours per week for server maintenance, answering customer requests/questions, billing and receipt of payments. Once built out the system is completely scalable and additional licenses can be purchased in groups from Novastor. They have been easy to work with and I can provide contacts in both sales and support.

Please visit Novastor at their website to learn more. The product is called NovaBackup xSP. You can read a great deal about it there. The 250 user license package would currently cost over $12,000 per their sales staff. I'll entertain offers comparable to the asking price but this is obviously already discounted from what I paid. Novastor also now has a partnership program where their system can drive customers to your service. I do not know much about it as it began after I stopped being involved.
