I will soon be taking on a few retired geldings at my house and have decided to advertise and see if anyone else would like to board their retired horse here as well. $150 per month per horse on a strap fenced, 3 acre lot. Includes hay and maintained water trough, access to 2 run-in shelters and HD video monitoring with sound and microphone that you will have access to watch and listen during any 24 hr period. If your gelding requires blanketing, grain every day, or if he is a kicker or a biter toward people or other horses I'm not interested in inviting him here, but if your gelding is at a healthy weight, doesn't need grain daily, and is a good natured horse who needs a safe place to socialize, I can offer that to you for a fair price.

The photos are of my house, yard, horses, and barns. They were all taken between 2012-2019. Only the dark bay gelding remains here right no and a jack. The riding ring is in a new location but I wanted to show what it feels like to have a horse at my place.
Visitation is welcome twice a week on scheduled days. No outside dogs are welcome because I have dogs of my own and this can cause problems, however I will certainly bring them inside while you are here during your scheduled visits. Vet needs, farrier needs, worming and meeting with the vet and farrier or dentist are the responsibility of the owner and I will not be participating in those services. 6 Month terms are required.
I have a separate area that is used as a riding arena or training area (or area where you can play with your horse without the others interfering) for you to use. I live in a neighborhood where I find it fun to go on horsey walks or rides, (as long as the manure is picked up afterward). because it's safe and has no through traffic. My land backs up to a long scenic road that is perfect for trail rides as well.
I feed round bale hay in round bale feeders. One round bale feeder is covered so the horses can stand in a dry area to eat. The other round bale feeder is a hay hut that keeps the hay dry but the horses eat it without being under a roof. I'd have two separate bails out at all times. I don't let the hay get low. I always put out a new bail early. This way the horses always have hay to eat while it's cold.
Currently I'm looking for 2 more boarders who have healthy, fat retired horses they love and want to enjoy their retirement in a very safe environment that creates peace of mind. I have owned horses for 10 years and I know that in order to feel peace of mind about my horse's well-being I need to be able to check on them daily. This is why I am installing an HD color camera and connecting it to the internet so that all owners can monitor their horse at any time. It has night vision as well. So if you fit this description and are fine with my rules and requirements I'd love to meet you and talk the details with you. However I am not open to mares, or daily graining/daily visits.
